Pacer Adam Milne returns to the Firebirds squad after missing three rounds to injury, joining the side for a must-win game against the Northern Brave this weekend.
Tim Robinson is also back in the side, adding depth to the batting order as they travel to Hamilton.
One change for the Spotlight Reporting Blaze as Rachel Bryant joins the squad for the second time this season with the squad on the verge of securing their top seed!
FIREBIRDS
A pair of changes to the Firebirds squad this weekend, which adds closing power with the ball in Adam Milne and some more batting into its lineup in the form of Tim Robinson.
Vishvaka (sickness) and Georgeson are the two not traveling to Hamilton that featured in last week’s Anniversary Day squad.
Cracking 150 only once in their last three games, the Firebirds are very familiar with having to have miserly bowling. The addition of Milne’s closing power, which won them games in rounds one and two this season, is a welcome notch in the belt of captain Peter Younghusband.
Slipping down to fifth in the overall table, the Firebirds will need a win on Saturday to stay competitive near the top of the Dream11 Super Smash table. With only two rounds to go, the field is still wide open and each team controls their own destiny.
Catch the Firebirds their crucial Round 9 matchup of the Dream11 Super Smash at 1:40pm on Saturday, January 28th when they take on the Northern Brave at Seddon Park. The game comes to you streaming LIVE on TVNZ 1 and Spark Sport.
BLAZE
The new-look Blaze side featuring Laura Harris and Charli Knott didn’t miss a beat after losing their WHITE FERNS players, setting a new team record score in the process of knocking off the second-place Magicians by more than 100 runs.
Leigh Kasperek and the Spotlight Reporting Blaze have a plethora of talent to choose from already and adding the bruising power of Laura Harris and Charli Knott has them on the verge of a twenty-game win streak.
One change to the team this weekend, as Rachel Bryant comes into the squad for the second time in this Dream11 Super Smash campaign, with Maneka Singh not making the trip up north.
Twenty in a row isn’t the only thing at play for the Blaze this weekend, a win would secure them top spot in the Dream11 Super Smash and guarantee a trip to the grand final!
Leigh Kasperek and the Blaze will take on the Northern Brave in the early game, starting at 10am on Saturday the 28th of January at Seddon Park.
