Batsman Sam Mycock has been included in his first Firebirds squad ahead of Round 2 of the Plunket Shield in Dunedin.

The reigning Wellington Prov A Men’s player of the year, Sam Mycock was a reliable force in the top order, tallying 485 runs across six innings of work for Wellington A last season.

His inclusion in the side comes after three BLACKCAPS who participated last round, Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, and Tom Blundell have all exited the squad ahead of the England test tour of New Zealand starting next week in Christchurch.

Iain McPeake and Callum McLachlan are the other fresh inclusions in the side, rounding out the 12-man squad heading to Dunedin this morning.

Watch Round 2 of the Plunket Shield from 10:30am on the 18th – 21st of November as Wellington takes on Otago at the University of Otago Oval. Live scoring and streaming will be available on NZC’s website.
