In the early stages of the Ford Trophy season, squad rotation has been the name of the game for the Firebirds as the pace bowling depth continues to show its strength.

With a bigger squad than ever due to a considerable number of BLACKCAPS and casually contracted players available, the team has had the opportunity to keep their squad fresh through the densely scheduled early weeks of the domestic summer.

James Hartshorn and Michael Snedden will provide further pace stocks as they enter the 12-man squad en-route to Hamilton for Wednesday’s clash with Northern Districts.

Liam Dudding comes out of the squad to manage his workload, after featuring in all fixtures so far this season. Michael Bracewell is the other exclusion from last time out, who is staying home for family reasons.

After rain spoiled any chance at a result last weekend in Wellington, the team will be looking to get their second win of the campaign on the board against a Northern Districts side also had a rained-out fixture in the weekend.

Round 4 of the Ford Trophy is scheduled for 10:30am on Wednesday 30 October at Seddon Park, Hamilton. Live scoring and streaming is available on NZC’s website and YouTube channel.
