Fresh off the BLACKCAPS tour to Sri Lanka, Tim Robinson has returned to the Firebirds squad ahead of the Round 3 Plunket Shield matchup in Napier this week.

The newly capped Sam Mycock will make way for the returning BLACKCAP, with an otherwise unchanged Firebirds squad heading north today ahead of the matchup against the Central Stags beginning tomorrow.

After a rain-affected draw in Otago, the Firebirds are seeking their first win of the red ball campaign against their geographical neighbours.

Captain Nick Kelly hit his best form in Dunedin, achieving the rare feat of back-to-back centuries in the last fixture, becoming only the seventh Wellington player to achieve the feat in a single first-class match, the first since Michael Bracewell did in in 2020/2021.

Watch Round 3 of the Plunket Shield from 10:30am on the 28th of November as Wellington takes on the Central Stags at McLean Park in Napier. Live scoring and streaming will be available on NZC’s website.
