Tim Robinson Returns from BLACKCAPS, Blaze Unchanged for Round 2

Top-order batsman Tim Robinson will add some firepower to the top of the Firebirds lineup as he returns from BLACKCAPS duty.

The teams are headed to Nelson for a Round 2 matchup against geographical neighbours Central Districts tomorrow from Saxton Oval.

Robinson was recently with the BLACKCAPS for their T20 series against Sri Lanka, in which he was the team’s second-highest run scorer as the BLACKCAPS took a 2-1 series win.

Fans will remember his rise to fame during last year’s Super Smash, which featured an unforgettable 139 at the Cello Basin Reserve.

The Blaze are unchanged after a Round 1 win against the Northern Brave which came down to the wire and required some clutch death bowling to shut out the Brave in the final over of the game.

This will be Ellyse Perry’s last game with the Blaze before heading back to Australia to begin her preparation for the Women’s Ashes later in the month.
