The Wellington Firebirds and Blaze are Christchurch-bound today as they get set for another matchup against Canterbury, only two days after taking on the Red-and-Black at the Cello Basin Reserve.

Both sides are unchanged for Friday’s doubleheader which will see the Firebirds play under lights for the first time this season, scheduled to start their match against the Kings at a later-than-usual 5:55pm.

The Blaze, currently second on the Super Smash ladder, have a game in hand on the Otago Sparks, who currently sit atop the table. Sitting four points back, the Blaze hold their fortunes in their own hands, with a chance to win their game in hand and go atop the table on net run rate.

WHITE FERNS Leigh Kasperek and Georgia Plimmer are currently unavailable for selection due to injuries. Plimmer has started batting in the nets and is progressing well in her rehab.

For the Firebirds, BLACKCAPS Rachin Ravindra and Tim Robinson are currently unavailable, with Ravindra being in an NZC-mandated rest period, while Robinson misses out again due to a shoulder tweak.
