White Ferns Return for HBJ Final

The Spotlight Reporting Blaze have named their 13-strong squad to take on the Canterbury Magicians in the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield Final on Saturday, March 4th in Queenstown.

Three WHITE FERNS players return to the squad after being on international duty for the T20 World Cup in South Africa. Maddy Green, Georgia Plimmer, and Jess Kerr will bolster the Blaze for the final, while other international representatives Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine are headed to the WPL in India and remain unavailable.

Leigh Kasperek and the Spotlight Reporting Blaze get another shot at a title this season after missing out in the Super Smash Final to these same Magicians. This time at a neutral venue with internationals back in the ranks, there is reason for optimism within the Blaze camp.

Finishing first in the round robin play, the Blaze won six of their ten games and had three washouts, losing only one game of ten in their regular season work.

Well positioned and topped up with talent, the Blaze are ready for the challenge ahead in Queenstown this weekend.

The Final will take place at John Davies Oval in Queenstown on Saturday, March 4th. The action kicks off from 10:30am streamed LIVE on YouTube!
