Luke Georgeson comes into the Firebirds squad as the sole addition to either team as the Firebirds and Blaze travel to Auckland to play their first Dream11 Super Smash fixture against the Aces and Hearts on Friday, January 20th.

The Spotlight Reporting Wellington Blaze have reduced their squad size to twelve, with Rachel Bryant being the only member of last week’s record-setting squad to not travel to Auckland.

The Firebirds make a couple of changes to their team that lost a nailbiter against the Volts, with Adam Milne needing maintenance for an ongoing discomfort, and Tim Robinson coming out of the squad in favour of an allrounder.

FIREBIRDS

Adam Milne will not travel to Auckland for Friday’s game due to the injury that has headlined his summer. Milne is not expected to miss a lot of time as his exclusion is a part of ongoing maintenance.

In the wake of losing the express paceman, the Firebirds are bringing some bowling reinforcements to the big city.

Tim Robinson misses out on Friday’s squad while Luke Georgeson joins Jakob Bhula as middle-of-the-order allrounder options for coach BJ Watling to use.

After dropping their match against the Volts, the Firebirds have ceded top spot on the Dream11 Super Smash ladder and are looking to stay in the hunt for a home final with a statement against the Auckland Aces.

Catch the Firebirds in action against the Auckland Aces in Round 7 of the Dream11 Super Smash at 4:10pm on Friday, January 20th. The game comes to you streaming LIVE only on Spark Sport.

BLAZE

The Spotlight Reporting Wellington Blaze are coming off a record-setting win last time out in Dunedin and are looking to stay firmly in the winning mindset.

Captain Amelia Kerr the Blaze know the importance of winning with a full-strength squad, as next week will see the departure of at least a few Blaze regulars as they head to the T20 World Cup with the WHITE FERNS.

Only one change to the Blaze squad as they return to the regular traveling squad size of twelve, with Rachel Bryant staying behind after acting as the 13th player during last week’s Dunedin fixture.

Winning streak or not, the Blaze have no intention of giving up their top spot on the Dream11 Super Smash ladder, a spot which they have held firm for the last few years in the competition. With the Canterbury Magicians only one win behind and coming to town next week, every game matters for this Blaze squad.

The Blaze are in action during the first half of the doubleheader, taking on the Auckland Hearts at Kennards Hire Community Oval in Auckland from 12:30pm on Friday, January 20th.
