Jesse Tashkoff draws into the Firebirds squad on the eve of the final Ford Trophy round before the focus shifts to the Dream11 Super Smash.

The Firebirds are fresh off a well-earned win last time out at the Cello Basin Reserve, in which they held a strong Canterbury side at bay.

With the top order finding their feet and the bowlers firing from all sides, the team is looking more like the side that came out of the blocks on fire in the Plunket Shield.

Adam Milne is unavailable for selection as he was picked in the BLACKCAPS squad to face Bangladesh in 3 ODIs over the next two weeks. He joins Tom Blundell and Rachin Ravindra in the BLACKCAPS squad, while Devon Conway is having a well-earned rest after a non-stop winter of cricket.

The team travels to Auckland today to take on a resurgent Aces squad, led by ex-Firebird Finn Allen’s two hundreds, who have looked dominant at times in their white ball campaign.

Round 5 of the Ford Trophy will take place at Kennards Hire Community Oval in Auckland on Wednesday 13 December 2023, with the first ball to be bowled at 10:30am. Live streaming and scoring will be available on NZC’s website.
